Build Gardens

If you have professional trade experience, enjoy working with tools, or just want to get your hands dirty, we have three volunteer opportunities that might be a good fit for you.

For any opportunities listed below, APPLY HERE.

Days in the Dirt Clean Up Crew

Get your gloves ready! Each of our gardens requires a crew to perform seasonal upkeep and general maintenance throughout each growing season. Join a crew or bring your own and help us make sure the gardens remain up to par throughout the growing season.

Growing Places is often called upon to build new raised bed frames, replace old ones, or problem solve in our many community and institutional gardens in the area. We construct our standard raised bed frames, taller accessible raised bed frames, and garden fences; we tackle irrigation and landscaping challenges; and we generally maintain the inventory of tools and materials in our warehouse. All these tasks require trade skills know-how, and if you know how, we’d love for you to join our team.

Do you have access to a pickup truck? Growing Places always needs drivers to ensure that our gardeners have all the tools they need for their gardens, to deliver seedlings, and for assistance with difficult garden builds. If you have an hour or two to spare, contact Growing Places today. You can be a volunteer driver at a time convenient to you! Time commitment: based on your availability.
